Besides fundraising, Roscrea Lions actively support the provision of local services. When there was a danger that one such service, the Dean Maxwell Home, might be severely affected by proposed cutbacks in funding, the Lions organised a support rally on 9th March 2012.
The large crowds that attended sent a message to the “powers that be” that the proposed cutbacks would be most unwelcome and so mitigated the effects of these proposals.
