Roscrea Lions Club in collaboration with Cistercian College Roscrea are delighted to announce that they will hold a Charity Walk on the grounds of the college on Saturday Sept 7th at 6.30pm sharp. The “Light It Up Gold” walk is in recognition of, and in support of Childhood Cancer Ireland, and to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness month which runs through the month of September.
Lions Clubs of Ireland have recently launched a new partnership with Childhood Cancer Ireland to support the hundreds of families affected by childhood cancer around the country.
Childhood Cancer Ireland (CCI) is the national parent and survivor-led childhood cancer charity representing the voice of children, adolescents and young adults with cancer, survivors and their families. They aim to ease the burden of diagnosis and treatment by raising funds to provide practical and emotional supports for families and survivors.
The walk will begin from the Grotto in Cistercian College at 6.30pm sharp and all are welcome and encouraged to take part. It promises to be a beautiful event in the serene surroundings of Cistercian College. We sincerely thank Fr. Malachy, President Colm Maloney and the students of Cistercian College, for supporting us to host the walk in the grounds and for providing light refreshments after.
