This novel event involved the local Lions selling tickets. The ticket buyer had their name put on a creme egg. The races were run off in heats down the travelator in Tesco Roscrea. The eventual winners were presented with their prizes on the day. As a promotional bonus, anyone buying a book of tickets was given a creme egg to “whet their appetites”!
The event, sponsored by Tesco Roscrea, was advertised through the Lions’ participation in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade the week before.
The Lions Creme Egg Race took place on Saturday 23rd March 2013 at 2pm and was a great success. A large crowd assembled and a fun time was had by all!
The winners were R Marrinan, N Deegan, S Carey and the runners up were R Maguire, E Carey, M Spencer and M Moloney. Tesco Roscrea kindly sponsored the prizes . All monies raised go to local Lions projects.
