Roscrea Lions Club are delighted to announce that they have recently been successful in obtaining a €27,500 Leader Grant from Tipperary Local Community Development Community / North Tipperary Development Company, towards the design of a new Biodiversity Park for Roscrea and that a contract has been signed with local award winning Landscape Architect, Louise Checa from Louise Checa Landscape Architecture, to complete the design stage.
The Lions have been working in conjunction with Tipperary County Council on this environmental project that will greatly add to the amenities in Roscrea and greatly enhance a public space for use by all the residents of the town and local area. The proposed Park is on lands owned by the Council on the Old Dublin Road, adjacent to the Town Centre.
Roscrea Lions Club would like to acknowledge and thank the excellent support and work by Tipperary County Council and their professional and supportive staff in getting the Project to this stage.
The proposed Park will provide an environmentally friendly amenity and will hopefully include such facilities as a Fitness Trail, Natural Timber Playground, Viewing Platform/Seating area, Sensory Garden, Outdoor Classroom, Community Orchard & Fitness Stations.
Roscrea Lions have been serving the people of Roscrea for over 55 years and are delighted to have the opportunity of helping to deliver a well designed public space accessible to all which will add to the regeneration and revitalisation of the town.
